Obama gets 12 stitches after errant elbow to mouth: I know what you're thinking [lucky elbow].....shame on you!

Interesting story bit....even in this story in 2010, the press are still trying to devalue Reagan:

The story says, "Recent presidents have had a number of medical scares." It then lists choking on food (Bush), fainting (Bush I, Carter), tripping and falling (Clinton)....then almost in passing the story says, "Ronald Reagan was shot in the chest in a 1981 assassination attempt." Ho-hum, just another "medical scare."

They just can't help themselves,....to them, Ronald Reagan taking a bullet in the chest is just another "medical scare." They lump the courageous and heroic Obama, who took an elbow to the puss playing ball with his yes-men, to Reagan, who (yawn) was SHOT IN THE CHEST AND ALMOST DIED.

Order restored in the English Premier League - United back on top; Chelsea, Arsenal and City stumble again. #epl #mufc

http://soccernet.espn.go.com/tables/_/league/eng.1/english-premier-league

Ahhhh. A good week for United. Back on top with a 5-goal show from Berbatov and the goal difference made up; through to the Champions League knockout stage; Rooney is back and all is well (for now). Interesting stat-o'-the-day: United have scored a league best 35 goals with only 1 of those goals (a penalty) coming from Rooney.

"Decoding the Sarah Palin Paranoia" GREAT article from Tunku Varadarajan @tunkuv

An excerpt from the article on why Sarah Palin scares the ruling elite:

"Typically, politicians who strut like peacocks on the national stage value experience, temperamental restraint (or constraint), knowledge, and dues-paying. Palin seems to be profiting from qualities—spontaneity, you-betcha folksiness, an anti-sophistication about issues, and, let’s face it, striking good looks—that the elite don’t have, and don’t easily endorse."

READ THIS! Whether you support Palin or not, this article is a very good analysis on why Palin scares the Establishment on the Left and Right. http://www.thedailybeast.com/blogs-and-stories/2010-11-23/palin-paranoia-deco...

Most People Oppose Scans: And how will the TSA propaganda ministers spin this?

Released: November 23, 2010

Frequent Fliers: 59% Oppose Enhancements and 43% Will Seek Alternative to Flying

The implementation of full body scans and pat downs by the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) as part of security enhancements at our nation's airports will cause 48% of Americans and 42% of more frequent fliers to choose a different mode of transportation when possible, a recent Zogby International Poll finds.

Overall, 61% of the 2,032 likely voters polled from Nov. 19 to Nov. 22, oppose the use of full body scans and TSA pat downs.  Republicans (69%) and Independents (65%) oppose in greater numbers than Democrats (50%).

Of those polled, 52% believe the enhanced security measures will not prevent terrorist activity, almost half (48%) say it is a violation of privacy rights, 33% say they should not have to go through enhanced security methods to get on an airplane, and 32% believe the full body scans and TSA pat downs to be sexual harassment.  This is in line with frequent fliers (fly more than once every 3 months), as 53% say the enhanced measures will not prevent terrorist activity, 48% believe it's a violation of their privacy rights, 41% say they should not have to go through it to get on an airplane, and 35% believe it is sexual harassment.

While roughly the same amount believe the full body scans and TSA pat downs are necessary to keep the country safe and prevent terrorist activities on airplanes (34% of frequent fliers vs. 29% overall), frequent fliers are more likely to feel that the enhanced methods are not needed because metal detectors and bag screenings are working fine (33% to 26%). Just 16% of frequent fliers say no one has an absolute right to fly and if people don't like the security measures, then just don't fly compared to 20% of everyone polled.

The Zogby poll also finds when given a choice, likely voters will choose full body scan over the TSA pat downs (48% to 7%), but 42% would rather have neither.  Frequent fliers feel about the same.

Where does the TSA come up with their numbers saying most people "like" the scanners?

Slippery Slope: Full-body scanners popping up at courthouses #optout

CASTLE ROCK, Colo. – Taking a trip during the holidays isn't the only time that people might get a full-body scan to pass through security. People heading to court to testify, get a restraining order, pay a ticket or answer criminal charges could also face a full-body scan at courthouses.

The U.S. Marshals Service, which is in charge of protecting federal judges nationwide, is exploring their use at federal courthouses. And two state courthouses in Douglas and El Paso counties in Colorado have already deployed full-body scanners that use radio waves to detect all objects on a person, including paper.

A guard in a separate room monitors the gray images with pixelated faces and genital areas, and the images aren't stored on a computer. officials said. All visitors to the Douglas County Courthouse in Castle Rock, Colo., undergo full-body scans, while guards at the El Paso County Judicial Center in Colorado Springs use the scanners during peak hours.

Behold the propaganda ministers of the TSA; they have an answer for everything on their Blog

Look, I'm tying to be reasonable here. But this is very eery the way our government is cranking out the propaganda machine with blogs, polls, and official commentary that supposedly "debunks" the "small number" of complaints about the outrageous TSA searches at airports. The official TSA Blog www.blog.tsa.gov is more interested in trying to call everyone who complains either a liar or hysterical complainer than investigating the behavior. What is worse is that the government propaganda ministers ominously challenge those who would criticize by saying "aren't you concerned about your safety and the safety of other passengers?" It's almost as if they are saying, "you are either with us, or against us; and by the way, we have the power and we are doing this for your own good, so don't interfere, or else."

The standard response from the TSA is "well, there are such a low number of complaints, we must be doing something right." Is this good enough? I challenge you to go on YouTube or even Google and type "TSA strip search" and see the hundreds of postings of infuriating behavior by the Government agents at the airports. And yes, they are TSA Agents. Putting them in soothing blue uniforms does not change what they do or how they should be perceived. And them saying, "I'm just doing my job," doesn't make it right, either.

So what happens when some idiot terrorist blows up a mall, or a theater or a building with a car bomb? Does the TSA extend its authority to any form of transportation? Are we then going to have armored TSA vehicles roaming our streets and highways randomly pulling people over to search us and our vehicles in the name of "security."

People say it could never happen, but did we ever think we would live to see the day when flying to North Dakota to hunt ducks automatically subjects you to a TSA strip search, naked scanner AND a civil fine of $11,000 if you do not "cooperate?"

Rooney returns, Man United win; Chelsea and Arsenal lose: a great day!

This is a good day for United. When United hit full scoring potential now that Rooney is back, the EPL title is theirs to lose. All this was done without Rooney. The rest of the league should be very afraid. Darrin Keaton - from my Blackberry

@Spurs 3 - @Arsenal 2 ; for those not paying attention, Tottenham are for real. @epl

They were down 2-0 at halftime and came back to win. Although I'm a United fan, I love watching Spurs play. I hope they finish top 4 (but not above United)

AL Cy Young voters are fantasy-league losers! 13 wins? What a joke.

Will somebody please give me a valid, sane reason a pitcher who managed to win only 13 games (yes, I said a 13 game winner) wins the American League Cy Young Award? And fantasy league nerds please do not respond. This proves that ESPN has a choke hold on stuff like this. I am watching all their stat-nerds on their network gushing over how great this is for baseball. Yuck, they can have it.

There terrorists have won! Read this encounter of a guy who just wanted to go to North Dakota.

http://www.johnnyedge.blogspot.com/2010/11/these-events-took-place-roughly-be...

What is particularly chilling about this encounter is the man in civilian clothes trying to get information in the name of "trying to help" the traveler. Then threatens him with a civil lawsuit if he left the airport.

Obama White House Hands Out 111 Obamacare Waivers- Hides It on Website

Typical - Democrats fight for and pass a healthcare law that the majority of America didn't want, then their leader starts handing out waivers to help corporations and unions friendly to Obama be exempt from that very law. Those without access or $$$ to afford the waiver process are out of luck.

Pelosi: ‘We Didn’t Lose Because of Me--- Elvis told me so’ and other crazy comments from the former speaker

One of the most delusional political statements of the year --- "The reason they had to take me down is because I’ve been effective in fighting special interests in Washington, D.C.,” Ms. Pelosi said, citing the health insurance and financial services industries. “I’m effective. They had to take me out. I’m also the most significant attractor to support for the Democrats.”

Wednesday, November 10, 2010

In 2005, 7,420 Federal employees made $150k per year, since Democrats took control of congress that number blew up to 82,034 - that's the Obama change!

The number of federal workers earning more than $150,000 has soared in the last five years

As expected, when the Democrats took over congress in 2006, they did exactly what the Republicans said they would---go on a spending spree that would make Paris Hilton jealous...

By the way, the 'tolerant' state of Pakistan has the a-bomb; just in case they need to wipe out a bunch of Christians for 'defaming Mohammed'

Christian woman sentenced to death in Pakistan 'for blasphemy against Mohammed'; 3 days after Obama calls Islam a religion of tolerance

"Mrs Bibi has been held in prison since June last year. The court heard she had been working as a farmhand in fields with other women, when she was asked to fetch drinking water. Some of the other women – all Muslims – refused to drink the water as it had been brought by a Christian and was therefore "unclean", according to Mrs Bibi's evidence, sparking a row."

Obama, meanwhile, had announced a few days earlier that the Muslim religion was one of "peace and justice and fairness and tolerance." www.mediamatters.org/research/201011080055

Think American sports press is tough? British press is already writing off 3rd place Arsenal with 27 matches still to play!

Ok, I don't like Arsenal, but sometimes you have to laugh at the British sports press when they start writing off teams with more than 2/3 of the season to play. Arsenal are 5 back...come on. They do the same with all the teams, including United. Realistically, with a good run of wins, any of the top 5 have a shot at the title. That is, except for City, who (to the delight of anyone with a job and a pulse) will choke and crash by January after firing Mancini. P.S. NEWCASTLE (Toon!) is 5th on goal difference.

Liverpool beats Chelsea.... United now 2 pts back and still undefeated. #mufc #epl
