And nothing will happen to the perpetrators. Unreal, how do people stand to watch these games when things like this take place?

Pelosi Renounced by Candidates in Her Own Party - otherwise known as "Abandon Ship!"

The phrase "abandon ship" comes to mind seeing all these Democrats distancing themselves from their party leaders...."I'm a Democrat, but I'm not like Obama, Pelosi and Reid." All through the South...look at the tightrope Roy Barnes has to walk by trying to be a Democrat but renounce the policies of his own party.

Premier League Table - Ok, United are unbeaten -but 5 draws? #MUFC must do better!

I understand it's kind of cool to be the only unbeaten team in the Premier League, but 5 draws out of 8 games is NOT good. C'mon, we can do better, United. At least Chelski aren't running away with it, but anytime City is above you on the table, it's time to start getting serious.

New owners for Liverpool - same losing results - now firmly in 19th place!

It doesn't matter who owns the team...the owners don't get on the pitch!!! Liverpool are bad because they are playing terribly. Silly Scousers!

Congressman Jim Oberstar, D-Minn., has just one donor from his district

With a potentially competitive race developing back home in Minnesota’s 8th District, Transportation Committee Chairman Jim Oberstar collected a contribution from just one resident of the district between June 22 and Sept. 30, according to a federal election report filed Wednesday.

Jane Robbins of Pine City gave Oberstar $500 on Aug. 22.

Other than that, all of his contributions came from political action committees, Native American tribes or individual donors in other districts and states.

In all, the veteran Iron Range Democrat, first elected in 1974, collected just $233,102 in receipts over the time period. By comparison, fellow Minnesotan Michele Bachmann, a Republican firebrand, pulled in $5.4 million between July 1 and Sept. 30.

Rasmussen Predicts GOP Gain of 55 in US House

Newport Beach, Calif.—Nationally-recognized pollster Scott Rasmussen last night predicted that Republicans would gain 55 seats in races for the U.S. House of Representatives November 2—much more than the 39 needed for a Republican majority in the House for the first time since 2006.

But the man whose Rasmussen Reports polling is watched carefully by politicians and frequently quoted by the punditocracy said that whether Republicans gain the ten seats they need to take control of the Senate is in question.

Georgia Elections: Deal still leads Barnes by 8; Olens and Cagle have comfortable leads -

The latest InsiderAdvantage survey shows the Republican candidates for governor, lieutenant governor and attorney general in Georgia all are enjoying substantial leads.

In the race for governor, Nathan Deal leads former Gov. Roy Barnes by eight points – 49 percent to 41 percent. The Libertarian has dropped to 3 percent, and 7 percent are undecided.

In the race for lieutenant governor, incumbent Casey Cagle has a 50 percent to 36 percent lead over Democrat Carol Porter. The Libertarian is receiving 3 percent and some 12 percent are undecided....

GOVERNOR

Nathan Deal continues to enjoy a reasonably strong lead over Roy Barnes. However, as I indicated last week, the poll does show improvement from our last poll among independent voters. The problem for Barnes is that independent voters are now making up their minds and they have reached nearly 50 percent for Deal with only 10 percent undecided and Barnes at 36 percent. For Barnes to have a chance to win this race or force a runoff, the Libertarian must hold to at least 3 percent and Barnes must improve his numbers among independents and male voters, where he is now trailing 56 percent to 34 percent.( Barnes leads among female voters 46 percent to 43 percent.) This explains why we have seen so many commercials recently in which Roy Barnes is surrounded primarily by white males in delivering his message. Republicans should be careful to not be overly confident, in that any movement among male voters in Barnes’ direction would likely also be a shift in independent voters, making the race much closer. However, the results of the other two races tell us something about the mood of Georgians with regard to Republican nominees versus Democrats in this very tough year for Democratic candidates....

Election 2010: Nevada Senate - Angle hits 50% - Reid starting to fade

Republican challenger Sharron Angle has now moved to a four-point lead over Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid in Nevada’s bare-knuckles U.S. Senate race.

The latest Rasmussen Reports telephone survey of Likely Nevada Voters shows Angle hitting the 50% mark for the first time since mid-August, while Reid earns 46% of the vote. Two percent (2%) prefer some other candidate in the race, and two percent (2%) more are undecided. (To see question wording, click here.)

This marks the widest gap between the two candidates since late June, but the race remains a Toss-Up in the Rasmussen Reports Election 2010 Senate Balance of Power rankings.

Just over a week ago, the race was virtually tied, with Reid at 48% and Angle at 47%. The two have been separated by a gap of three points or less since Reid came charging back in June with a series of blistering attack ads on Angle.

GA Gov Race: Deal extends lead - Barnes in trouble

Republican Nathan Deal now holds a nine-point lead over Democrat Roy Barnes in the race to be Georgia’s next governor.

A new Rasmussen Reports telephone survey of Likely Voters in the state finds Deal earning 50% of the vote, while Barnes receives 41% support.  Libertarian candidate John Monds is a far distant third with three percent (3%).  Three percent (3%) prefer another candidate, and just as many (3%) are undecided. (To see survey question wording, click here).

This race remains Leans GOP in the Rasmussen Reports Election 2010 Gubernatorial Scorecard

In surveys dating back to March, Deal has consistently held a modest advantage over Barnes, with support ranging from 43% to 51%.  In those same surveys, Barnes’ support has remained in the narrow range of 39% to 43%.  Monds was first included in late September and has failed to earn more than five percent (5%) of the vote.  Last month, Deal led Barnes 45% to 39%

Deal, a former nine-term congressman, is favored by 86% of Republicans in the state.  Barnes, who served as governor from 1999 to 2003, earns support from 88% of Democrats.  Deal holds a double-digit lead over Barnes among voters not affiliated with either political party.

Eighty-one percent (81%) of Barnes voters are already certain how they will vote next month, as are 86% of Monds supporters. Just 68% of those who back Deal say they've already made up their minds.

Barnes faces an electorate that trends conservative, enough so that the Democrat declined to even meet with President Obama when he visited the state in August.

Twenty-seven percent (27%) of voters in the state consider themselves part of the Tea Party movement. This finding is double the level measured nationally.  Fifty-nine percent (59%) do not consider themselves members of that movement, but 15% more are not sure.

Most Tea Party members (90%) in Georgia back Deal, while 60% of non-members favor Barnes.

Eleven percent (11%) of all voters in the state rate the U.S. economy as good or excellent, but 54% describe it as poor. Thirty-one percent (31%) say the economy is getting better, while 44% say it's getting worse.

Barnes has an overwhelming lead among voters who say the economy is improving. Deal has an equally solid lead among those who think things are worsening economically.

Forty-nine percent (49%) of the state’s voters have a favorable opinion of Deal, with 14% who view him Very Favorably. He is viewed unfavorably by 47%, including 22% with a Very Unfavorable view.

For Barnes, favorables are 44% and unfavorables 54%, including 23% Very Favorable and 33% Very Unfavorable.
Monds is regarded favorably by 32% and unfavorably by 30%. This includes three percent (3%) Very Favorable and 12% Very Unfavorable. But 38% don’t know enough about the Libertarian hopeful to voice any kind of opinion of him.

Fifty-six percent (56%) of all Georgia voters think the policies of the federal government encourage illegal immigration, slightly lower than findings nationally. Twenty-four percent (24%) disagree, and 21% aren't sure.

Fifty-two percent (52%) think it's better to let states enforce laws against illegal immigration rather than to rely on the federal government. Forty-three percent (43%) say it's best to let the federal government enforce those laws.

Eighty-six percent (86%) say immigration is at least somewhat important to how they will vote next month, including 50% who say it is Very Important.

Current Republican Governor Sonny Perdue, who defeated Barnes in 2002, is term-limited.  Fifty-three percent (53%) of Georgia voters approve of the job Perdue is doing as governor, while 44% disapprove.
